A TikTok Shop audit is a structured review of what drives, or blocks, your sales on the platform. SparkGMV's audit is free and covers three pillars: your GMV Max campaigns, your Spark Ads creative and your affiliate and creator program. You get written findings scored per pillar and a prioritized 90-day plan, walked through on a 30-minute call.
Who this is for
- Brands spending on GMV Max without a clear view of what paid actually adds above organic and affiliate sales.
- Shops sending lots of free samples but getting few videos, or few that sell.
- Teams whose sales depend on a small handful of creators.
- Founders weighing whether to hire an agency and wanting an evidence-based view first.
- US and UK DTC brands in categories like skincare, household, footwear, supplements and baby products.
How it works
1. Request the audit
Tell us about your shop through the audit request form. If you want a quick read first, the free self-check scorecard highlights likely weak spots in a few minutes.
2. Grant read access
We ask for read access to Seller Center and TikTok Ads Manager so findings come from real data, not guesses from outside the account.
3. We review the three pillars
A strategist works through GMV Max, Spark Ads and the affiliate program, checking structure, settings and outcomes against how each part should work together.
4. Scored findings and a 90-day plan
Each pillar gets a score and a short list of findings ranked by likely impact. The plan turns those into actions by month, so you know what to do first.
5. 30-minute review call
We walk through the findings with you, answer questions and agree which fixes matter most for your goals.
What we check
| Pillar | What we look at | Red flags we often find |
|---|---|---|
| GMV Max campaigns | Campaign structure, ROI targets against break-even, product coverage, creative fatigue, baseline vs lift | ROI targets copied from the recommendation with no margin check; low-margin products absorbing budget; a few tired videos carrying most of the spend; dashboard ROI read as ad-only return |
| Spark Ads | Authorized creative pipeline, code tracking and expiry, hook rates, how winners reach GMV Max | Strong creator videos never authorized; codes expiring unnoticed; no structured hook testing; winners never added to GMV Max |
| Affiliate and creator program | Commission levels, sample approval rules, sample-to-video rate, creator concentration, repeat-creator share | Commissions out of step with margins or category; samples approved with no criteria; many samples sent, few videos posted; sales dependent on one or two creators; few creators posting more than once |
Why audit all three pillars together?
Because they feed each other. Since July 2025, TikTok's help center has listed GMV Max as the only supported campaign type for Sales campaigns with a TikTok Shop destination. And TikTok's GMV Max overview notes the system can draw on Spark Ads posts as creative.
So a GMV Max problem is often a creative supply problem, and a creative supply problem is often an affiliate program problem. Looking at one pillar alone tends to treat symptoms.
Reporting adds another layer. TikTok describes Product GMV Max as optimizing for total channel ROI, counting organic and affiliate orders for promoted products. Part of the audit is separating what paid adds from what would have sold anyway.
How is each pillar scored?
Every pillar is scored on the same simple scale, so you can see at a glance where the biggest gaps sit. The score reflects three questions:
- Setup: is the structure right? For example, are ROI targets tied to margin, and do samples go out against clear approval rules?
- Health: is it working today? We look at signs like creative fatigue, hook rates, sample-to-video rate and how concentrated sales are among a few creators.
- Connection: does this pillar feed the others? Strong creator videos should reach Spark Ads, and proven Spark Ads posts should reach GMV Max.
Low scores are not a judgment on your team. They simply show where effort will pay back fastest over the next 90 days.
Where the audit leads
Each pillar maps to a service. Affiliate findings feed TikTok Shop affiliate marketing, and concentration or repeat-creator issues point to building a TikTok creator network. Ad findings go to GMV Max campaign management and TikTok Spark Ads management.
